NQF Level 3 Skills Programmes

SP01 – Warehousing Team Leadering Skills

The warehouse team leader has the responsibility of not only ensuring that warehouse operations run smoothly, but also that all team members are performing effectively, which, in turn, leads to an efficient and fully functioning warehouse. This programme provides students with a deeper understanding of team dynamics, how to motivate and build a team, and the fundamentals of warehousing and stock control.

SP10 – Stores and Warehousing

Warehousing and stock control are often thought of as simple tasks which do not require much skill. However, with the sophistication that has been brought into the supply chain and the need for everyone to be attuned and functioning at their peak, many businesses have come to realise the importance of high quality training for warehouse personnel.

SP11 – Manufacturing Process Controlling

The Lean Manufacturing Principles Learning Programme is often called Just In Time (JIT) or Agile Manufacturing. It’s an operating strategy that seeks to maximize operational effectiveness by creating value in the eyes of the end user/customer. Lean Manufacturing Principles can improve operating performance by focusing on the uninterrupted flow of products and materials through the value stream.

SP12 – Warehouse Controlling Skills

Warehouse Personnel have a responsibility to understand the impact of the inventory in their care on the operations of the business and the greater supply chain. This course provides foundational training in material handling, stock taking, the purchasing cycle and the impact that inventory has on manufacturing.

NQF Level 4 Skills Programmes

SP02 – Supply Chain and Materials Management

Understanding the entire operational side of supply chain management is a key element for any practitioner. This certification provides an in-depth look at all areas that need to be managed at a detail level which includes inventory management, distribution management, planning and scheduling, and the correct way to measure the success of these operations.

SP03 – Supervisory and Scheduling Skills

The planning team leader is not only responsible for the planning function in the organization, but also for managing the performance of a team. This skills programme provides a comprehensive base for the management of the team, providing top quality customer service, and ensuring that the planning and scheduling process in efficient and accurate.

SP04 – Manufacturing and Resource Management Skills

Lean manufacturing, also known as Just in Time (JIT) or agile manufacturing, is an operating strategy that seeks to maximize operational effectiveness by creating value in the eyes of the end user/customer. Lean manufacturing principles can improve operating performance by focusing on the uninterrupted flow of products and materials through the value stream. This skills programme covers elements of JIT, as well as short-term planning and quality management.

SP05 – Leadership and Problem-Solving Skills

This skills programme explores the essential elements of leadership that drive successful organizations. It further investigates associations between leadership behaviours and implementation of supply chain management (SCM) practices. A given leadership model applicable to a supply chain context is utilized to evaluate the effectiveness of personal leadership style and recommend improvements.

SP06 – Principles of Inventory Control

This skills programme comprehensively covers the fundamentals of inventory management, including different types of inventory and their costs. Inventory analysis and order quantities are covered in depth, along with the role of distribution management and the distribution network.

SP07 – Planning and Scheduling Skills

The role of a planner and scheduler requires a detailed knowledge of the operational planning requirements of the business. To be effective, a planner needs to understand how planning integrates with the whole supply chain and the impact that decisions they make will have. This skills programme comprehensively covers the forecast and planning environment, demand and supply planning, and short term planning.

SP08 – Warehousing and Customer Care Skills

When a customer order cannot be filled because of lack of inventory, unhappy customers take their business elsewhere. This skills programme gives the learner a thorough grounding in inventory basics and distribution principles, along with an understanding of how to create customer satisfaction.

SP09 – Inventory Management Skills Programme

Managing an inventory team requires a thorough understanding of inventory as well as how to effectively lead a team and the impact of inventory on customer service. The programme looks at the management of both inventory and the inventory replenishment cycle, logistics operations and designing a distribution network for the movement of goods, while the role of a team leader in the inventory environment and the alignment to business objectives and code of conduct are explored.
